Huia is an independent publisher with a focus on supporting Māori and Pacific writers, describing the diversity of Māori experiences and perspectives, and promoting the Māori language. Huia publishes fiction and non-fiction for adults and children, as well as educational resources in the Māori language.

All resources have been prepared by Dan Rennie, an experienced teacher with over 25 years working in the classroom and who is thoroughly familiar with the requirements of the syllabus.
Scholastic New Zealand Limited is one of New Zealand’s largest publishers and distributors of children’s books. Founded in 1962, the company publishes 30–40 titles annually, aimed at all levels, from preschool to young adult. Locally published titles are actively promoted overseas, initially through the international Scholastic group.
