This catalogue is a showcase of some of the latest titles from New Zealand that we believe will be of strong interest to international publishers.
After the success of the 2012 Guest of Honour programme at the Frankfurt Book Fair and the large increase in translations leading from it, we know that New Zealand titles are attractive in the wider world. Those included in this catalogue reflect this.
One of the questions I was asked most often by non-New Zealand press during the Guest of Honour year was, “what areas of books do New Zealanders specialise in?” My answer was always that we write and publish across the spectrum. New Zealanders are wide-ranging in their interests and skills, and this catalogue, covering fiction, non-fiction and children’s literature, illustrates this.
