We create Pasifika children’s books that help our tamaiti to be seen, heard and valued in the worlds they live in. This is why our stories help to develop cultural confidence, connections, understanding and are, Tusi faitau for all the fanau – Story books for all the family.
Saufo`i Press is a new poetry press dedicated to publishing Moana Pacific voices. We empower our communities by connecting and publishing Moana Pacific and minority writers and artists. We aim to share great stories with fiafia (joy), empathy and generosity. We champion work that connects to our shared and varied Moana experience. Our books aim to reflect the unique diaspora and the many individual identities of our Moana Pacific communities in Aotearoa. We may be different, but we are all connected by the ocean. Our ancestors guide what we do. Saufo`i Press is for the generations before us, after us, and for us. We hope to become firmly established in the fabric of Aotearoa and Moana Pacific literature, and one of the go to places for poetry that illustrates some of our stories, journeys and the experiences of our people.

Cadsonbury Publications was founded by Robin Mitchell in the 1990s as a publisher of historical New Zealand books that were out of print. Robin’s death saw Barry Hancox, owner of Smith’s Bookshop in Christchurch, take over until 2019 when he sold Cadsonbury Publications as part of the sale of Smith’s Bookshop. Barry was responsible for creating the Cadsonbury branding and also changing the cover design.
Alan Direen and Tony Murdoch, the new owners of Smith’s Bookshop, have determined to maintain Cadsonbury’s niche role and to this end have begun to advertise titles nationally and regionally. Three new titles have been released under their management.
Currently Cadsonbury carries 127 titles and these may be viewed at www.cadsonbury.co.nz
