About the Book

Better known abroad than in New Zealand, Kees Bruin has more than forty-five years of full-time painting to his credit and more than 180 substantial works in his portfolio. He is one of New Zealand’s finest realist painters and holds a position alongside contemporaries like Grahame Sydney or Raymond Ching.

About the Author

With degrees in art history and classics, John Stringer is a published author and historian. Having worked in both the church and the art sector, he is qualified to unpack Kees Bruin’s unique painting career. He writes and researches on history and art history and is a practising artist himself.
