CLNZ is the organisation that licences educational institutions and other organisations the right to photocopy parts of books for their use or the use of their students in return for a fee. CLNZ was set up in 1988 and has been instrumental in protecting authors and publishers rights and ensuring they are fairly compensated for the use of their works since and continues to be jointly owned by PANZ and NZSA.

The Diploma in Publishing is a well recognised qualification for our industry and we work closely with the students each year on various projects such as the PANZ Book Design Awards, member’s directory, Introduction to Publishing. We also place three graduates each year into PANZ member companies through a six month intern programme funded by Creative NZ.
