Creative New Zealand Author Programme at Frankfurt Book Fair 2015
In 2012 New Zealand was Guest of Honour at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2012. This gave us a unique opportunity to profile our literature, culture and society to the German public and the world’s literary and publishing communities. We’re pleased to announce our legacy funding programme which will bring authors back to Germany in 2015 to help maintain audiences and friendships developed during and since our Guest of Honour presence.
Applications are now open for the Creative New Zealand author programme at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2015. We’ve funding for up to three writers that will cover: economy airfares, a week’s accommodation in central Frankfurt, a week’s per-diem plus airport transfers (NZ & Germany).
We’re seeking applications from NZ and German publishers that are willing to contribute to this funding with logistical and or marketing support. We’re looking for applications from publishers that will partner with us to develop dynamic schedules full of author events, meetings and press engagements.
So if you represent a New Zealand writer who’s got a new work in German translation or are interested in supporting the promotion their backlist in German translation we’d like to hear from you. Applications are open now and close Friday 10 July 2015.
Applications will assessed by an industry panel including a senior representative from the Frankfurt Book Fair and applicants advised of their decisions on Monday 27 July 2015.
