Programme

After a couple of false starts, we’re delighted to announce that PANZ Conference – What Now? Publishing in a Disrupted World Me I Aha Ināianei? Te Whataputa pukapuka i te Ao Tauwhati has been rescheduled to Friday 4 March, 2022.

The disruption certainly hasn’t gone away and many of the ongoing themes and ideas we’d originally planned will also feature this time round, including sustainable models of good practice, the impact of new tech on the industry and diversity and inclusivity in publishing.

We’ll have full programme details to announce in January, but in the meantime we can confirm that both Bens – Benedict Evans, tech thinker and futurist and Ben Brown, poet and Te Awhi Rito New Zealand Reading Ambassador will join us along with Sophy Williams publisher at Black Inc. and the brains behind the powerful #ownvoices anthology series. And we’ll be wrapping up the day with drinks, nibbles and the chance to catch up informally.

COVID and Traffic Lights

Working on the optimistic basis that Auckland will remain in the orange level until conference, then we can comfortably go ahead as planned. We have confirmed Cliftons on Queen Street as our venue and will also be live streaming the full day to those who can’t be with us in person. Cliftons has an excellent COVID plan in place and we’ll be working closely with the team to ensure that sound hygiene measures are in place. Additionally, the Cliftons team will ensure that QR code scanning happens and will manage delegates vaccine status upon arrival, using the NZ Pass Verifier app.
