At Essential Resources it is our unequivocal aim to make teachers’ working lives easier by producing innovative, high-quality publications that are designed for today’s learning environment. Our practical resources support teachers to teach effectively and in a way that challenges students to develop critical thinking skills and strong problem-solving strategies to equip them for a today’s fast-paced, changing world.

We write and publish Te Reo Singalong books. We started the company in 2012 and since then we have sold around 50,000 Te Reo Singalong books into early childhood centres and schools throughout New Zealand. We currently have 13 titles available, with two more planned for 2017. We also perform our books in a Te Reo Singalong show for children and present Te Reo Pronunciation workshops for teachers. We won the Print category at the Māori Language Awards in 2013. We also won two awards at the CLNZ Educational Publishing Awards in 2015 – the judges choice award for Best Resource in Te Reo Māori and the Teachers’ Choice award for Best Resource in Te Reo Māori.

Scholastic New Zealand Limited is one of New Zealand’s largest publishers and distributors of children’s books. Founded in 1962, the company publishes 30–40 titles annually, aimed at all levels, from preschool to young adult. Locally published titles are actively promoted overseas, initially through the international Scholastic group.

Rennie Resources produces high quality economics resources directly related to the changing curriculum. All resources come with teaching notes. All resources have been prepared by Dan Rennie, an experienced teacher with over 25 years working in the classroom and who is thoroughly familiar with the requirements of the syllabus.

Global Education Systems (GES) publish quality literacy resources to stimulate young minds. Resources developed by Jill Eggleton QSO, international educational consultant and author, include writing, guided reading, shared reading and independent reading.

Illustrated Publishing is a small publishing company, based in the Waikato. We specialise in beautifully illustrated, award-winning Children’s Books & Te Reo Māori Resources.

Director, Kat Quin is the creative mind behind the Kuwi the Kiwi and Kiwicorn series of books.

Educational Resources produces educational print and video resources for community groups and schools and celebrates titles such as Youth and the Law which is now in its 3rd edition.

Their products have won many awards including a Writemark plain English award and has been operating since 1999. Prior to this they were the Legal Resources Trust doing the same work with the same personnel since 1991.

NZCER Press is the organisation’s publishing arm, publishing research-based assessment tools, journals, books and classroom resources, written by external authors and in-house researchers.
